Strawberry Pie Recipe

Strawberry PieStrawberry Pie is bursting with fresh berries in a thick strawberry glaze and then piled into a prepared crust. Top it off with some fabulous swirls of fresh whipped cream and no one will resist seconds.
This pie recipe is a summertime favorite for my family, and it’s so easy to make. But, you will need to make two because it will disappear fast.

Homemade Strawberry Pie Recipe


  • 4 cups fresh strawberries (capped, washed and sliced)
  • 1- 9" frozen pie crust- baked and cooled
  • 3 oz pkg strawberry gelatin- regular or sugar-free
  • 3 oz pkg vanilla pudding- Cook&Serve-(NOT instant)- regular or sugar-free
  • 1 tsp lemon Juice
  • 1 3/4 cup of water
  • 2 cups fresh whipped cream


  • To a heavy sauce pan add 1-3/4 cups of water, the gelatin, and the pudding.
  • Cook on med-med high heat while stirring continuously to prevent sticking.
  • The mixture will become semi-translucent.
  • When the mixture gets to the boiling stage, let it boil for about 30 seconds.
  • Remove from the burner.
  • Stir in the lemon juice and set aside to cool slightly.
  • Pierce the sides and bottom of a thawed pie shell.
  • Bake the pie shell for 10 minutes in a 400F oven and set aside to cool.
  • Wash, cap, and slice the berries and pour into the prepared cooled crust.
  • Pour the glaze over the top, and lightly tap the pie on the counter to help distribute the glaze evenly.
  • Cover the pie and place in the refrigerator for 4-6 hours to set.
  • Whip 2 cups of heavy cream and pipe swirls onto the pie before serving.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
  • Notes

    * A graham cracker crust may be substituted for the pasty crust. Adjust oven temps and time as needed to avoid burning the pie crust.

      1. Haha…I know! It makes a really delicious glaze and it’s so easy to do. My mom used to make Strawberry pies when I was growing up too. Always a treat.
