Best Low Carb Taco Bake

You don’t have to be on a diet to love this Low Carb Taco Bake! It’s quick, easy to make, and the whole family will enjoy it.  
Cutting out carbs is a lot easier than most people realize, and it can lead to a healthier lifestyle. Modern research is proving that lowering carbs as opposed to fat in the diet is the wiser choice.
I personally have been following a low carb eating plan for about a year now, and have experienced many positive results, including weight loss.
This recipe is a delicious way to stay on track! I use my own homemade taco seasoning mix recipe, but the packaged variety may be used as well.

Best Low Carb Taco Bake Recipe


  • 1st Layer:
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 C heavy cream
  • 1/2 of recipe or 1/2 pkg taco mix
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar
  • 2nd layer:
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 med onion chopped
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 4 oz can green chilies
  • taco seasoning ( half of recipe or 1/2 package)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese


  • 1st Layer
  • Beat together cream cheese and eggs until combined
  • Add in heavy cream and taco seasoning mix
  • Mix together well
  • Sprinkle 1 C cheese on bottom of lightly greased baking dish
  • 8X8 pan was the perfect size
  • Pour egg mixture over the top
  • Spread out to the ends
  • Bake at 350F for about 20 minutes
  • While the egg, cheese mixture is baking start 2nd layer
  • Brown together ground beef and onion
  • Drain off the fat
  • Add in tomato sauce, green chilies, and rest of taco seasoning
  • Mix together, add water and stir
  • Simmer for 5 minutes
  • Add the ground meat mixture on top of cooked 1st layer
  • Sprinkle 1 C of cheese on top
  • Bake @ 350F for 20 minutes
